OK, back online, though my goal to have a new "strategy website" with more fleshed out everything (and audio, geez) hasn't yet been accomplished. In fact, I updated this site TWICE during the last year and apparently didn't actually POST my updates. ARGH! This is long overdue. I'm still here and thanks for checking back! Since I last wrote, I've been building lots of cool equipment (pictures to come); WFMU, one of the best US radio stations, gave my "Noise Tape Reggae" 7" the super rinse in their heavy rotation; I did my first ever audio-visual performance for Portland's multimedia monthly, Hexasion; and I did a large-ish batch of remixes and compilation appearances. I'm currently working on another album, this one a follow-up to Future Rock, and it's been exciting though long winded to work on. I've been roping in many friends to help, including members of Units, Benoit Pioulard, Nudge, City Center, Fontanelle, Solenoid, Spirit Duplicator, Smoke & Mirrors, Evolutionary Jass Band, Gulls, and more....if you liked the wildstyle combination sounds of Future, this one will be right up your alley...it's provisionally entitled...I won't give that away yet.

A look back at 2009:

New releases: Sines of Life 3" CD-R ion Australia's hellosQuare label and the Awareness is Fruit 3" CD-R on Under the Spire. These kind folks hit me up for some tunes and I have built up a healthy stash of unreleased material from the past two years' burst of productivity. Both releaes feature a single longform piece in the spirit of the Electric Soup EP tracks- blobular, pulseless ambient with touches of ambient techno, prog, free improv...I love 3" CD-R's and have limited quantities of both available (see buy section below)

Reissues: my landmark 12" single World House on my own Community Library label is essentially out of print, however, it is now out as a digital release available at all your favorite music download stores...

New remixes: I had a great time working on Gareth Hardwick's "Last Heights" for his Aversions CD on Low Point. It features some of my personal friends and Gareth's, including Chris Herbert, Xela, and others. My dub mix of Ssion's "Ah Ma" finally came out on Sleazetone as an mp3 single, and also my nutso synth-harp (!) remix of Flossin's "Serpents" as a download album on Overlap. Portland's Pyramidd (formerly known as Starfucker) have released a cd/lp with a Strategy lo/slo disco mix, right there with a Copy remix for the home town style. The remix has recently also appeared on a Pyramidd 7". Lastly I did another remix for The Declining Winter (my 2nd for them) which came out as a limited CD included as part of their 7" single "Haunt the Upper Hallways."

Compilation appearances: Mule Electronic, a fantastic dance/electronic label on Japan, have Strategy featured on two new cd comp's celebrating their 5th anniversary: Enjoy the Silence (ambient tracks) and My Favorite Things Vol. 2 (slo-house). In both cases I'm alongside some of my all time favorites- it's definitely a "not worthy!!!" scenario for me. This label situation is likely to show further collaborations in the near future. Bands: Fontanelle reformed and has been rehearsing for just over a year. Nudge released a new album on LP and CD, As Good As Gone, on kranky, to critical acclaim!!
